Brigadiers 2010: “Conquistador”

Brigadiers Announce 2010 Program and Designers

Canastota, NY (September 28, 2009) – It is with great excitement that The Brigadiers delightedly welcome back the incomparable arranging team of Wayne Downey, David Glyde, and Jim Wunderlich to design the corps’ 2010 musical program. Coming off their most recent success with the 2009 DCI World Champion Concord Blue Devils, Downey, Glyde and Wunderlich have set their sights on designing a musical program for the Brigs that will thrill and entertain drum corps audiences in 2010.

Based on Downey’s acclaimed original marching music composition, the Brigs’ 2010 production, “Conquistador,” will be designed specifically for The Brigadiers and the drum corps medium and will return the corps to its signature power brass and percussion sound, with a little Latin flavor thrown in for good measure.

Rick Morey also returns to his role as The Brigadiers’ Program Coordinator, after spending the past couple of seasons focusing his efforts on the corps’ visual design. Rick will also continue to break new ground as the corps’ Visual Designer, bringing Downey’s original work to the field with a fresh and exciting vision. Also returning is Christian Delmotte, who will once again provide his unique colors and intricate equipment work as Color Guard designer.

“We couldn’t be happier with the design team that we’ve assembled for 2010,” said Rick Martin, Corps Director. “The return of Wayne, Dave and Jim, as well as the stellar guidance of Rick Morey, bodes well for a successful 2010. We’ve also restructured the corps from an administrative standpoint, all of which foretells a bright future for the Brigs.”

The Brigs will host their Open House and First Camp on December 5-6, 2009, at Canastota High School in Canastota, New York. All Brigadiers camps are open to any interested participant.

Stay tuned for more announcements concerning the instructional and administrative staff and for additional camp details!

With roots dating to 1938, The Brigadiers Drum & Bugle Corps was reorganized in 1991 after a nineteen-year absence from competition. The Brigadiers are 5-time Drum Corps Associates World Champions, winning titles in 1997, 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002, including four consecutive DCA titles from 1999-2002.
