  1. Well I haven't heard anything about the Corps from the board so I'm just going to assume the corps is officially dead. Time for me to stop waiting for a response that isn't coming and find a new corps to call home.
  2. Looks like I need to get my chops in shape for the first camp!
  3. The last thing I was able to pry out of anyone on the board was the end of this week if this person accepted....so we'll see.
  4. 2012 is not all that far away in the grand scheme of things. As a member unpatiently awaiting for our return to the field, I have heard great things that the new Executive Board has done and is doing. Makes me hopeful of an extremely successful and long-term comeback for the corps!
  5. Can we get this thread back on topic please? Personally I'm excited to be marching next year with the Brigs again...
  6. The site is back to the original one... www.brigadiers.com
  7. You just sit in chairs on the field!!
  8. It only counts if you had a specific loan out made through a specific lender. Typical congressional promises: Promise you the world, then put so many restrictions on it that no one can use it. But they've already been elected to a job where they get their full-time salary and free health care for the rest of their life, even if they only serve 1 2-year term. See below... http://studentaid.ed.gov/students/attachme...2%2012%2010.pdf
  9. We have decided that Class A was not in our best interests, which is why we chose not to do Class A. Dropping out of competition entirely lets us focus our entire energy to rebuilding a membership, performance, educational, and financial base for the corps to support itself with in the future. This is why we are still doing parades, supporting the OCC winter drumline in more ways, and keeping our brass players playing together by doing a mini-corps.
  10. Yes the shows are still going to happen. I'm personally excited to see MBI at the Jamestown show! I've always been a fan of them, even though they were another competitor
  11. Most of the brass players who were at Brigs are staying on to foster our mini-corps and other ensembles that will form. Plus we'll be adding our DCI kids once they all get back from tour
  12. It's almost like you sat in during our staff meeting ;-)
  13. I just wanted to say congratulations publicly to all my fellow Brigadiers brass members who will be marching DCI this coming year... Phantom Regiment- Steve Vaughn (Euph), Kerrin Maillet (Mello), Nick Monzi (Asst. Conductor) Cadets- Andy Buchman (Contra), Nick O'Hara (Trumpet), Randall Bennett (Contra) Santa Clara- John Calhoun (Trumpet) Raiders- Kelsea Serlin (Contra) If I missed you I'm sorry...it's early and I haven't had coffee yet
  14. I don't know too many DCA corps that charge $1000. Maybe the West Coast corps do to fly their members out for DCA Finals. I know Brigs has been under $500 since I joined in 2007, that's usually broken down to $250 cash and then a $250 mandatory fundraising obligation. Although most members knock out their dues with the ample fundraising the Brigs provide their members.
  15. I'm excited to be playing some upbeat latin tunes again this year!! Just wish the Army would stop getting in the way of my fun :-P, so let's hope they don't schedule camp on my National Guard weekend again haha
  16. Granted yes, but you would be able to use this brand new equipment for all of your venues. It was stated that they do over 500 jobs/gigs/shows a year, therefore this investment would be in their company rather than DCA. Having the videos with better clarity will help them in all 500 venues in which they currently participate not just DCA.
  17. Well not to leave DCA out... The Brigadiers -2003 "First Time Ever I saw your Face" http://www.brigadiers.com/index_extras.htm
  18. It's awesome that a bunch of vets from various years will be coming back this year!! Going to be a strong year for the "Red Machine"!!
