MelloHorn13 Posted October 27, 2009 Share Posted October 27, 2009 (edited) Racine Scouts 2010 "A Gershwin Portrait" music of George Gershwin Racine Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps of Racine, WI is proud and to announce their production, Instructional Staff, Drum Majors and Section Leaders for the 2010 season. Returning for the third season leading the instructional staff is Program Coordinator, Bobby Bonslater of Chicago, IL. Bobby’s marching experience includes 2001-03 Racine Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, 2004 Americanos Drum and Bugle Corps, 2005-06 East Coast Jazz Drum and Bugle Corps, 2007 Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps, 2006 Americanos Indoor Percussion Ensemble, Pioneer Indoor Percussion Ensemble 2007-08, 2009 Govenaires Senior Drum and Bugle Corps. Bobby will also provide music and visual designs for the 2010 season as well as assist with the Brass and Visual captions. Bobby currently participates in Lakeside Pride Concert Band and Jazz Ensemble and spend time preparing for the International and National Trumpet Guild. Kris Neal of Racine, WI returns for his nineteenth season of interaction with the corps. Kris’s marching experience includes 1992-2001 Racine Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and 2001 Racine Scouts Winterguard. Kris returns to the Brass section as High Brass Instructor after six years as Colorguard Instructor. This season’s Low Brass Instructor is Jonathan Beloit of Milwaukee, WI. Jonathan’s marching experience includes 1994-1999 Racine Scouts and 2000-01 Madison Scouts. Jonathan returns for his fifth year on instructional staff with the corps. Jonanathan currently works within the Hal Leonard Publishing Corporation. Returning as Battery Instructor is Matthew Cavanaugh of New Bedford, MA. Matthew’s marching experience includes 2004 Sonic Wave Indoor Percussion Ensemble, 2005-2007 Boston University Indoor Percussion Ensemble, and 2002-06 East Coast Jazz Drum and Bugle Corps. Matthew currently participates in Kekeli West African Drum and Dance Group and the Steel Drum Ensemble at the University of Massachusetts- Dartmouth. Racine Scouts welcomes Front Ensemble Instructor Christopher Trahan of Dartmouth, MA. Christopher’s marching experience includes 2002-06 Dartmouth High School Indoor Percussion Ensemble, 2007 Boston University Indoor Percussion Ensemble, 2004-06 East Coast Jazz Drum and Bugle Corps and 2009 Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps. Christopher currently participates in Kekeli West African Drum and Dance Group and the Steel Drum Ensemble at the University of Massachusetts- Dartmouth. Racine Scouts also welcomes Colorguard Choreographer Jeff Choice of Norristown, PA. Jeff’s marching experience includes 2002,2006 Reading Buccaneers Senior Drum and Bugle Corps, 2003-05, 2007 Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps and 2005, 2007 The Black Watch Winter Guard. Jeff is currently Artistic Director/Choreographer for Between Movement Contemporary Dance Company and Designer/Owner of Ampersand Designs. Instructing the Colorguard is ten year veteran of the corps is Sarah Chaffee, of Racine, WI. Sarah’s marching experience includes Racine Scouts 2000-09 and 2001 Racine Scouts Winterguard. Currently Sarah participates in a contemporary dance class at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Drum Major, Leesha Seibold of Forth Worth, TX returns to the corps as a second year veteran. Leesha is a sophomore at the University of Texas-Arlington as a Broadcasting and Communications major with a minor in Journalism. Brass Section Leader, Amy Chaffee of Racine, WI returns to the corps as a ten year veteran. Amy is currently a Marine Biology major at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, with a minor in Chemistry and Music. Battery Section Leader, William Hampton of Joliet, IL returns to the corps as a six year veteran. William is a junior at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying Legal Studies and Sociology. Front Ensemble Section Leader Thomas O’Leary of New Bedford, MA returns to the corps as a second year veteran. Thomas is currently a sophomore at the University of Massachusetts- Dartmouth as a Music Education Major. Colorguard Section Leader, Deanna Durbin of Woodstock, IL returns to the corps as a seven year veteran. Deanna is a senior at Woodstock, High School. Caption Consultants will be announced as the off-season progress. The corps will operate under the direction of Executive Director Paul Chaffee and Corps Manager Andrea Birbilis. I remember competing against Racine when i was with The Targets, and things have come a long way. Nice to see even more ECJ alums becoming involved. Good luck guys. Camp will begin on Saturday morning and will go through 12:00 noon on Sunday. Where Camp will be held at Nativity of the Lord Catholic Parish/Holy Family Site, 3776 E. Hammond Ave, Cudahy, WI 53110 Cost Applicants must pay a $75.00 audition fee in order to participate. This IS an overnight camp and meals will be served on Saturday and Sunday. If you are in need of overnight accomodations on Friday night, please contact Program Coordinator, Bobby Bonslater no later than Wednesday of this week. racinescouts@gmail.com or 262 672 1423 Information on the upcoming Texas Camp on January 16 & 17 will be posted by the end of the week.
