I started in the spring of 1953; my first marching experience was in a Memorial Day parade that year and first contest was 7/4/53 at Warren, PA (we came in second). Yellow Jackets in 1963 - first contest, July 1963 - Class 'B' Pennsylvania American Legion State Championships, Pittsburgh, Pa. Yellow Jackets placed 4th.
