JimF-LowBari
Tip of the hat to Northern Thunder who gave me the idea. http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=3LsyA...remen&hl=en Link is to a newpaper article on a Miami show which had Reilly, Westshore, Madison Scouts, Cavies and 4 others in competition. Plus a few in exhibiton it appears. Sponsored by AL Post Harvey Seeds but see these corps were at the VFW Nationals (don't have book handy to check location). But there is a VFW article above.... Edit: LOL - looks like same article was in the paper twice under different headlines. First link is page 3 this is page 30. http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=3LsyA...remen&hl=en Edited May 31, 2010 by JimF-LowBari

royal-air canada
Looks like it wasn't a bad show to be in or watch...and in the Orange Bowl....CLASSY... Mickey (Vogt) Graeber tells me that she remembers being at that show with the Norwood Park Imperials. She had been the lead snare drummer with the corps for a number of years previously. The year before in 1956 they had won the American Legion State title over the Cavaliers and at the VFW Nationals in Dallas they had taken second place again over the Cavaliers with St. Vinnies taking home the first place trophy. She had marched all year up until the VFW Nationals in 1957 but when the VFW found out that her 21st birthday had been on March 20th of that year she was told that she could not compete in the VFW Nationals competition. She later joined the Chicago Royal-Airs Senior Exhibition Corps and marched the field shows and parades with them from 2004 through 2006 when they stopped doing their field shows. Then later in 2006 she joined the Anaheim Kingsmen (KAC) Alumni Corps. Her last year of marching in the field shows was with the Anaheim Kingsmen (KAC) Alumni Corps ending with their performance at the DCI Championships in the Rose Bowl and her last year of marching in parades was in 2008 with the Anaheim (KAC) Kingsmen in their Disneyland parade/concert in Jan. the San Francisco Renegades in the Chinese New Years day Parade in Feb. and then again with the Anaheim Kingsmen (KAC) Alumni Corps in the Anaheim Halloween Spooktacular Parade in Oct.
