Of course, they start in a circle formation.

All percussion opening, very African/tribal in feel. Not as together as I'd like.

Crowd applauds as the horns make their entrance. First spontaneous applause of the night.

Horns need more power when they're on the move. Standing still, they generate it.

Ahh, Heat of the Day. Great piece.

Yikes, tenors. Gotta clean that feature up.

Yeah, crowd is much more responsive to this show.

Horns are a little blatty on the main line of Heat of the Day. VERY difficult horn run while standing still, a little dirty. Nice rifle work in front.

The Crossmen, they gots the groove.

Kev,

You the man......thanks for the instant play by play!!!

The voice you hear while the corps is playing back field is a member reciting the Corps Prayer which is what they have been saying for years before and after every show.

Thanks again Kev!!

Oh............and go Pioneer!!

What is the guard designer's fascination with hot pants for the girls? It just doesn't look good.

Nice crescendo to the release! Crowd favorite by far to this point.

Minuano. I'm bobbing my head in 6/8. Good feel.

Nice interpolation of First Circle over Minuano. Fun arranging.

Again, the First Circle melody is placed on top of another piece, this time Letter From Home.

Nice rifle ripple toss!

Closing with First Circle now. Interesting case where the corps is getting better as the show progresses. My guess they've been rehearsing the back end of the show more. Horns have a great blend and balance now that they didn't have at the start of the show.

Too much synth bass, but a very powerful finish to the show with the horns on the front sideline. Much improved design from last year!
