As a side note ... in 1975: I believe that BD beat SCV in every show they competed together in, EXCEPT when Madison was there. No. A quick look at the Score Archive at corpsreps.com shows SCV beating Devils in several shows where Madison wasn't present. BD was 1.5-2 points down from Vanguard at most of those shows. And I believe Mitch's point re: '76 Devils were that his compatriots thought the 76 Devils were the second best corps they'd seen after the '75 Scouts. I will never forget sitting in that stadium that night..... and having our ears pinned back by that opening-hit wall of sound from the Scouts' horn line on the back sideline.
