I don't think that is an insult to the MM's. They can handle those criticisms.

Since I really don't know, when was the last time Phantom won the Jim Ott award?

Difficult not to give the nod to BD because they have performed to such a high standard these past few years. Those members deserve our praise even when we're not crazy about the programs. (Related note: So much of the fundamental sound is determined by instrumentation, arrangement, etc., that it seems similarly unfair to judge the "best hornline" on any criteria other than performance.)

That said, I think Cadets 07 was one of the greatest hornlines I ever heard. It's a shame it gets overlooked because of other programming choices.

Blue Devils may not always have the most notes in their books, but the writing is so #### dense it makes the listening responsibilities very difficult.
