dasboot
I believe, and correct me if I am wrong, it was the Troopers in 1972
Northern Thunder
I know the Troopers performed it in the late 1960s. There are photos of them performing it in the 1969 season.
BobB
I recall seeing the Troopers do the sunburst in 1966, and I think it may have even started before then....?
ajlisko
I know the Troopers performed it in the late 1960s.There are photos of them performing it in the 1969 season. Troopers may have performed it as early as 64 or 65 at the WO in Bpt. ... definitely before 69 ... I do remember reading somewhere though that the Norwood Park Imperials were an early adopter of the "burst" ... :-)
Northern Thunder
I wouldn't be surprised if a corps such as the U.S. Marine Drum & Bugle Corps may have done it in the late 1950s. There were college marching bands doing a form of it in the early 1960s (good way to showcase the baton twirlers). Ghost
I do remember reading somewhere though that the Norwood Park Imperials were an early adopter of the "burst" ...:-) No need to drag this thread on for another month. I believe we have a winner! Was told this was from 1958. So much for those who preached that Jim Jones originated this drill.
