Gary Matczak
Site is blocked at work but think 1972 is one of the RCA Champs for sale at Drum Corps World. Part of Alf Walaska(sp!)/Stetson Richmond collection.Never knew any of them were recorded (included the one I was in). I have some of these but forget which ones. I sat next to Alf and Fran (his son and former Madison Scout) on the sidelines at RCA championships in Erie for several years, as I was a judges sheet runner as a member of the Dal Demons, a corps for kids that my dad ran for kids during those years,...............I just wasn't sure that actual vinyl was pressed, and did not know that DCW have unearthed these recordings and made CDs available,..............that is cool! Jeff Adams
If anybody has or knows of anybody who has a video recording of the 1972 and 1976 RCA Championships, I am desperately looking for a copy. I am most interested in the 1976 show as it was my first year in Drum Corps but the 1972 show would have my older brother and a cousin of mine in it. I know that it is only likely that this would be on an old 8mm film but if someone has the means to have it transferred to DVD that would be awesome. Any help would be greatly apprecated. Fran Haring
I do know that Matadors and Pittsburgh did well at DCA... Rockets had one heck of a drum line that year.... and did a great version of "Patton" for their color pre.
