Music City's 2011 Show is "Let's Dance!"

Recommended Posts

Music City not only wants to keep toes tapping in 2011 but also would like to leave audiences dancing in the aisles with their production of "Let's Dance!" Even though music and visual styles will vary widely throughout the show, the program will be made up entirely of tunes famous for their association with dance.

Opening with I Could Have Danced All Night, the corps' musical selections will include Bandstand Boogie (American Bandstand theme), Waltz of the Flowers, Rain Dance percussion feature, Singin' in the Rain, Jai Ho, Tennessee Waltz, Dancing Machine and Shake a Tail Feather.

In addition to the traditional flag, rifle and sabre positions, the thematic nature of the show has dictated the inclusion of several dancer positions within the color guard. So you dancers who may or may not have any marching band experience, please know that Music City has a fun summer planned for you as well. The percussion section will also utilize two new positions in 2011. The percussion battery will add a cymbal line, and the front ensemble will add bass guitar.

Based on the fact that the corps has already received well over 300 applications, Music City hopes to field a full-size corps in 2011. The audition camp will be held Dec 4-5. To register and to learn more about the corps please visit our website at www.MusicCityDrumCorps.org.

Loved your show this year, also enjoyed eating with you guys at our joint housing site. Good group of people. :)

Ditto, all the corps members I met were extremely nice and carried themselves well.

This year's show was definitely a crowd pleaser. :worthy: Love the selections for next year and the addition of a cymbal line. Though the jury is still out on the bass guitar addition.

..Are you Ted Mosby the architect?

Great show, Music City. It was good old fashion drum & bugle corps with a contemporary twist!

Love it!!
