Galen
The summer of 2011 is not that far away as the Cascades design team is already arranging and creating the Cascades’ 2011 program. Following our well-received and uplifting “Silver Lining” program, this coming year the Cascades will stage a more ominous production sure to intrigue and inspire drum corps fans across the country. Cascades are proud to announce their 2011 production, “Pandora, a Dark Gift.” In Greek mythology, the first Athenian woman was the beautiful Pandora. Zeus ordered her creation and gave her as a gift to mankind. Pandora’s curiosity got the best of her when she opened the forbidden box out of which came all the evils of the world and just one good, hope. The audio design of this year’s production involves a vast variety of music styles that will both explore and reminisce. Musical selections include compositions by Joseph Vargo, William Piotrowski, Hans Zimmer, Michiru Yamane, David Gillingham, Alex North and Thomas Newman. This summer’s production also promises an exclusively new visual direction for the Cascades: from invention to staging and even to the attire of the corps. Follow us as the winter guarantees to reveal more exciting details about the Cascades’ summer to be. http://www.seattlecascades.org/news/11_showAnnouncement.htm
