Tampa Bay Thunder's 2011 Show

A Nautical Destiny

A nautical world will be explored as the wind and water combine to create a fantasy on the sea.Thunder will be using the music of Hans Zimmer’s Crimson Tide, The US Navy Hymn, and original works by Ron Ellis based on Handel’s Water Music & Debussy’s Le Mer. Images of sails and water will take the audience into a world of a fast paced regatta of musical and visual beauty. Tampa Bay Thunder will take you on a nautical journey using sails to depict a race to reach our destiny.

Tampa Bay Thunder is an all-aged corps that will be competing in Open Class in 2011. Tampa

Bay Thunder competed as a Div III (now Open Class) corps in DCI back in 2000 then moved up to Div II

in 2001. In 2002, TBT merged with the Kiwanis Kavaliers. In the spring of 2010, Tampa Bay Thunder decided to make a comeback, but this time in DCA. The corps will have its DCA evaluation in April at their rehearsal camp.

Thunder will be hosting its 3rd camp of the season on February 26th, 2011 at Land O’ Lakes High

School in Land O’ Lakes, FL.

Thunder is endorsed by Jupiter horns, Pro-Mark sticks, Evans drum heads, & Mapex/Majestic

Percussion.

I can probably count on both hands DCA and DCI corps playing Gershwin this year.
