7th Annual SPRING PREVIEW - Saturday, May 7th

Recommended Posts

Lots of exciting things happening with the Buccaneers this coming weekend! The Buccaneer Color Guard returns full time after concluding the indoor season last weekend. The Bucs and Bucs Alumni Corps will perform at the highly-anticipated SPRING PREVIEW at Twin Valley High School on Saturday night. Then on Sunday, the Full Corps will continue to work on "A Dancer's Dream" in Reading.

If you're near a radio this morning, tune into WEEU 830 AM at 11 am. We're proud to be guests of Mike Faust on his popular "Feedback" program where we'll talk about - um - the Buccaneers, drum corps, the Spring Preview, Big Sounds in Motion and other fun topics. As far as I know, we will not be discussing Carl Ruocco's birth certificate or thermonuclear dynamics - but it's radio, so things happen.

And the clock is ticking down to SPRING PREVIEW this Saturday!!!!

Make plans to join us!

On behalf of the SELDEN CADETS ALUMNI, I want to thank the great READING BUCCANEERS organization for inviting us to their show. You folks sure know how to make everyone feel welcome. We had a chance to see some old friends and hear some great tunes. :worthy:

Good luck this year to the corps in the 2011 season.

Wow!

What a fantastic day filled with friends, memories and, of course, awesome music!

Pulling off a successful event like the Spring Preview is no small feat. And on behalf of the Reading Buccaneers administration, I'd like to offer some well-deserved thank-yous:

  • to chairperson Lumelle Schneeweis, for her tireless efforts and boundless enthusiasm;
  • to Reilly Raiders, Swing House, Selden Cadets, Fusion Core and Brassmen, for making the trip to Twin Valley and for sharing your passion and your talent with us;
  • to the Reading Buccaneers Alumni, for your fantastic performance and for all you do to support the Buccaneers, both visible and invisible;
  • to Dan Long and the Twin Valley School District, for your role in the Buccaneers' success;
  • to the Twin Valley food service team, for offering up another sumptuous turkey dinner for us to enjoy;
  • to the dozens of volunteers who donated their time and sweat to help make the show run - we could not do this without you;
  • to Jerry Ware, who stepped in as emcee. While his upper torso was not nearly as colorfully festooned as Mr. Haring's would have been, he did a fantastic job behind the podium;
  • to the 2011 Reading Buccaneers, who wowed us with their performance of an exciting and demanding music book. We are proud of you and can't wait to see you grow with this great program this spring and summer!; and
  • most of all, to our guests who shared their Saturday with us, bought show tickets, raffle tickets, souvenirs and snacks, and cheered on all the performers. We appreciate your patronage and look forward to seeing you at Big Sounds in Motion on August 27 and at next year's Spring Preview!

A belated Happy Mother's Day to all drum corps moms out there!

Next up for the Balance in Blue....Friends & Family Day-Sunday June 12, at Buc Field. All are welcome to join us as we preview the field show in eager anticipation of the contest season's start the following Saturday in Wildwood.

Thanks again to all for a GREAT Spring Preview!
