ALLIANCE Drum & Bugle Corps is excited to announce our 2011 production, INFERNO. Keeping true to the corps’ energetic persona, ALLIANCE will explore multiple facets of ‘the flame’ and its role in the journey of life. Using source material from classical, wind ensemble, and pop music, brass arranger Ryan George will rework many recognizable themes and melodies and present them “ALLIANCE-style”. Percussion arrangers Alan Sears and Larry Summerlin are returning to provide ALLIANCE with another aggressive, innovative battery book and a complementary front ensemble arrangement. Drill designer Stephen Hendricks and the corps’ newly acquired color guard caption head, Ashley Jackson, will develop a visual package to portray this fiery show on the football field. We hope audiences will be excited and intrigued by INFERNO and will help us “Fan the Flames” in 2011. Selections include:

Infernal Dance by Igor Stravinsky

Fire of Eternal Glory by Dimitri Shostakovich

The Inferno by Robert W. Smith

Firebird Finale by Igor Stravinsky

If interested, please send an email to recruiting@alliancedrumcorps.org, and include details such as your name, contact information, desired section and previous experience. More information can be found on the corps' website: http://alliancedrumcorps.org

According to corpsreps.com, the Bucs did it in 2004. MCL was slated to play it this year as well.

When I marched Phantom in 2002, we played it as a concert tune. Not sure if we used the 93 brass score or not. The percussion was definately different.

I personally can't wait to hear their take on it. I think it's one of Shostakovich's greatest works.
