Each category will be a separate post for ease of viewing and editing. Unfortunately, I will no longer be able to keep a record of the highest-placing corps and scores as, after 16+ seasons, there are just too many records to go back through. DCP-I began in the winter of 2004, with a Executive Director with a dream and many corps helping fulfill that dream. The very first shows in the history of DCP-I were on March 1st, 2004. A total of 34 corps competed that day in either San Deigo, CA, Willingboro, NJ, or Whitewater, WI. The first winners were The Gladiators, Phantasma and Buena Vista. Now in its 16th season, more than 500 different corps have competed in DCPI events at one point or another. Galen Posted February 12, 2012 Author Share Posted February 12, 2012 DCPI Sweepstakes Award The Sweepstakes Award was established in season 13 to award corps for the most consistent performances and results of the season. Several events during the course of the season are designated as "Sweepstakes Events" and the top-placing corps in each division at those events receive "Sweepstakes Points". A running total of points is kept during the season, and the corps with the highest number of points are declared the Sweepstakes champion at the end of the season.
