bluecoats88
Spirit of Atlanta- An enjoyable program! Cool take on the "noir" thing. Great use of sound effects and the front drops JUST managed to be cool without being cheesy. The percussion line wreaks of Blue Coats style! (a good thing!). Feels like some influence there although I am not certain. Brass and Guard provide solid skill and performance. I dont remember a central "moment" in the show, but the whole thing is very cool over all. Three of the drumline staff are ex Bluecoats percussion. the tenor and snare techs aged out in 07, and the bass tech aged out in 08. Also to note, the top bass in spirit broke her foot about 2-3 weeks ago and pretty much only does sectionals and the show. most of the day she is sitting on the sidelines or playing her bass away from the corps while they rehearse. bluecoats88
Also - did anyone else notice that boston's 2nd bass lost a mallet when they were moving across the field to the right goal line late in the show, and he ended up playing the whole last piece with his hands instead of trying to use only 1 mallet. They have clips on the top of their drums but do not have a spare mallet or another pair. Not a good idea.

Whoa! Thanks for confirming! lol. They are doing a great job with that percussion. And glad to hear about the young lady rockin bass 1! Glad she isnt giving up. She did a great job too. Didnt notice any marching problems!
