Daave
The Atlanta performance has troopers holding it out longer than their last one by at least 10 seconds. That night, when I was watching that show on FN, the extra 10 seconds was because the DM missed getting the saber back into the scabbard after the salute and got it on the second try. Well worth the extra ten seconds.
friceox
I enjoyed the hell out of that chord, got to hear it live at Allentown (on Friday night we got to go see the show). But I feel like, in editing, DCI makes all corps balanced out for the DVD and stuff. I don't know if this is true or not though. I don't think they necessarily mix everyone down to the same range. The limiter/compressor also alters a lot of it. In 2002, I had a couple parts that were EXTREMELY loud from where I was standing in the pit, and I know I was right by a mic. When I listen to that part of the show, I can hear the compressor/limiter kicking in.

That staging created a very cool moment, but it doesn't come out well after the sound equipment had its way with it.
