*****OFFICIAL SUN DEVILS DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS PRESS RELEASE*****

I am happy to announce a staff change and several additions in this press release. We are 30 days away from the Drum Corps Experience Weekend and the wheels are burning. That being said…here we go!

The Sun Devils Drum and Bugle Corps formally announce Vic Kulinski as Assistant Director of the corps. Vic has been a long time staple in the drum corps community and will most certainly prove to be a valuable member of the administrative staff. He is already on staff as the Percussion Head/Arranger for the Sun Devils. Here is a little more about Vic:

Vic Kulinski has been active in the Marching and Performing Arts as a performer, director, arranger and teacher for over 40 years. His drumlines have consistently been in the top of their class. He has won numerous individual awards as a snare and multi tenor drummer as well as drum major. He has won the DCA World Championships Class A Best Drum Major Award 6 Times, and has consistently placed in the Top 5 in the DCA I&E Championships on snare drum since 1989.

Currently, Vic is the Drum Corps Associates South Region Coordinator, Chief Judge, and a member of Florida Federation of Color guards as a Board Member handling Events and Championships and Director for RPT Percussion and Arranger and Instructor for Shenandoah Sound, Leesburg and Frostproof High School Bands.

Lastly, we would like to announce the entire guard staff for the 2013 season.

Returning as Color guard Caption Head is Alisha Daugherty.

After returning from DCI Championships, Alisha transitioned into the role of choreographer, designer, and instructor. Over the course of 19+ years, she has had the privilege of working with several groups that include Roseville HS, Eich MS, Twenty-nine Palms HS, Pacific Alliance Winterguard, Del Oro Golden Eagle Band, Color guard and Winter Drum Line. In 2001 she returned as a performer for the San Francisco Renegades Drum & Bugle Corps and over time has also performed with River City Regiment Drum & Bugle Corps, Heat wave Drum & Bugle Corps, Reilly Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps and most recently with the Sun Devils Drum & Bugle Corps.

Lisa McIntyre – Flag / Weapons

Starting as a senior at Leigh High School in 1990, Lisa McIntyre has worked as visual tech, caption head, and/or show designer with many field and indoor high school and independent color guards in the Northern California region including Leland High School, Saratoga High School, Cupertino High School and Spirit of Sunnyvale Marching Youth Band. She has also performed with San Jose State University’s marching band/color guard and The San Francisco Renegades as well as serving several years on the Board of Directors for the Renegades. She currently resides just outside of Nashville, TN with her husband and two children.

Lindsey Brown – Flag / Body Movement

Lindsey has been involved in color guard for over 15 years and has taught and designed for numerous high school programs across the US. Getting her start with the Vero Beach High School Marching Band, she went on to march four years in the color guard with the Spirit of Atlanta Drum and Bugle Corps and spent an additional two years touring with them as support staff. She has served as the color guard director for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Cornhusker Marching Band for four years. During that time, she was a guest speaker at the 2006 Nebraska State Bandmasters Association Summer Convention. Lindsey studied Arts Management at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and holds a Bachelors of Arts from the University of South Florida in Theatre Arts. She is excited to be a part of the Sun Devils for this upcoming season!

Briana Cerniglia – Dance Tech

Briana started dancing at the age of nine. She started out with ballet and over the years she gained experience in contemporary, hip hop, tap, swing and jazz dance. Briana is a color guard alum from Ida Baker High School and has also marched with the Tampa Bay Thunder Drum & Bugle Corps. When she moved to Tampa to attend the University of South Florida, she became an active member of the Latin Dance Club and Argentine Tango Club. She now serves as the Treasurer for LDC and dances Argentine Tango, Salsa (On1 and On2), Bachata and Cha Cha. Briana is excited and eager to begin instruction with the Sun Devils Drum & Bugle Corps.

Please join me in congratulating Vic and Alisha and welcoming Lisa, Lindsey, and Briana to the Sun Devils Family!
