amysnook
The Reading Buccaneers have set up their second fundraising cruise. The cruise will start on February 7, 2015 for 5 nights in the Western Caribbean. Visit the Facebook group at 2015 Reading Buccaneer Cruise to see the itinerary and prices along with a registration form for the cruise. The 1st deposit of $25.00 per person, per cabin, is due on or before 11/2/2013. The next payment isn't due until Fall, 2014!! We are setting up an excursion in Jamaica to an all-inclusive resort which would be an adder to the price of the cruise. If you have any questions, please call Bob Cardaneo, Cruise One, at 1-800-519-0050. Don't be stuck at home shoveling snow; join us in the warm, sunny, Carribean! amysnook
BTW, you do not have to be a current or former Buccaneer to join us. Anybody can sign up and have a relaxing mid-winter vacation.
CorpsBuff
We have used Bob in the past for our personal cruises and highly recommend him!
rayfallon
So, let me get this straight... a group that uses the Jolly Roger for a corps symbol is recruiting folks to go on a cruise of the Caribbean? Why is it that the rowing scene from Ben Hur is the first thing that comes to mind. Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...... Somehow I'm guessing that there will be no Kiera Knightly on this tour... "Arrrrrrrrr matey... when you're done flogging Fallon get him up on that plank..." I see a Disney movie and maybe a theme park attraction coming out of this one... amysnook
Mr. Fallon, we're completely harmless when we're on vacation. Gives us a chance to meet others and hear stories from their drum corps experiences. We promise you won't walk the plank!

If you think that the guy who wrote the show for and taught the 1981 Hurricanes would ever get on a boat with the Buccaneers, you must be very young. I'm surprised I wasn't harpooned that same weekend, at just 29 years of age. (I may have hidden behind Pepe after retreat). Other than that it was a lot of fun though.... I was writing for Drum Corps News in 1981 and was 22. 1981 will live in infamy for Bucs and Hurcs. I can't speak for those in the corps back then, but I've come to terms with it and am not packing my harpoon. I'm fairly harmless.

To be fair and honest though, my wife has MS and uses a wheelchair and we've found that we don't love cruises as much as you'd expect. Did one to Italy 3 years ago and had a good time, but the boat itself (although they really go out of their way to make it accessible) is not our ideal time together. But I hope that the Bucs have a wonderful cruise, bury some treasure, down some rum, find some pirate booty, (in that order) and celebrate the legend that they have established. These past few years especially (but not solely) have been a tale more impressive than Blackbeard's.
