kevingamin
Continuing the WSS theme, a soprano soloist plays I Have a Love. The corps slowly moves forward to join him. One of the guard members does solo saber work before the other members join her. The corps switches to Somewhere.
kevingamin
That solo contra player is really getting the job done. The corps flattens the arc into a front and moves forward as they play the end of the WSS suite.
kevingamin
One final Somewhere quote and the show is over. Great job, Optimists!
kevingamin
Next on the field is the Steel City Ambassadors Alumni from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
kevingamin
One of the percussionists just ran up front with a cardboard tombstone with "Steel City Is NOT Dead!" written on it, a reference to Carolina Gold's use of defunct corps on tombstones during their show and perhaps to some possible "haters" out there as well. The horn line does a quick warm up of Salvation is Created. Nice sound to start the show.
kevingamin
The show opens with Hairbear holding an umbrella over a soprano soloist. It's come to this, has it? :D
Moon Pie
Gotta love Kurt - Stormy Weather . . . . seems appropriate!

kevingamin
Again, great sound from the horn line! I also like this arrangement of Stormy Weather and the soloist is knocking it out of the park. Great glissando by him, too!
kevingamin
Trap set player is working hard laying down the beat for How High the Moon. Low brass starts the melody before the upper brass takes over. Soprano and mellophone come front and center for a duet.
