Petting zoo for DCI too?

Recommended Posts

Is this the way to fill BD E, F, and G?

A feel-good article to lower the DCP angst while we prepare for the Superbowl and remember the Cadets drum line being the best part of halt-time a few games back.

Some of the schools I've worked with/teachers I know do this for recruitment.  It's pretty dang fun.  Hell, its how I picked my first instrument before starting band. I was actually a baritone player for a little bit before another percussionist dropped out and I was the next name on the list....

My school district did this as well for students entering middle school. It's what convinced me to pick up trumpet. It was run by seniors in the local high schools, and I volunteered to help out when I was a senior. It's quite fun handing a kid an instrument and watching them discover.
