ironlips
"If you can find enough inner discipline to spin a saber, flag or rifle at the level required for drum corps, violin becomes a piece of cake." When Diane's string students in the San Francisco Youth Symphony have problems with tempo control, she has them mark time as they play. Quote from an anonymous Violinist in the main San Fransisco Symphony: "Our professional string players noticed the vast improvement in the violin skills of the youth. So we all learned to spin various non-weapon impliments and tap out feet, both of which are now incorporated into our public performances. And it did in fact make our string playing a piece of cake."
