SpizleR
Cadets' "Million Dollar Run" in Farandole. Also their opening lick from 1997, but it would have been cooler if more than a third of the hornline was playing it. Word.
SpizleR
First of all, I would like to say that there are a LOT of horn line licks that I like...I mean a LOT. I'm just goin' to put a couple that I've heard within the last day or two...*The run/rip at the end of BD's '93 opener. *A mellophone rip (SHORT but sweet) at about 2:03 into Cadets '00 opener. *The soprano solo at the beginning of SCV '95. *The runs in Cavaliers '95 closer that ends with the soprano soli. *All the little mellophone parts in Cavaliers '00 opener. --Like I said, there are a lot more...these are just a few of the shows I've recently listened to and could name quickly off the top of my head. I just wanted to add another one to this list... check about 2:30 into the show. Those rips behind the chord chill my spine every time. :shiver:

Flugelist
Thanks for remembering Suncoast '85. That was a great brass line. Good ones listed but nobody mentioned 27th Lancer's licks in Niner Two...think it was '82? Very Hot! Flugelist

And check it out ,dude, they had FLUGELS in that line!!!!! Tripdid
Pretty much anything the Star mello line played. There are so many moments that stick out of so many peoples shows, but personally i will always remember listening to those mello lines when i was marching. **sigh**
DoubleHighEZ
Wow! There are so many! But I would have to say that my fav is the sop feature in T.O., BD '82 & '83, probably because I got to play it with them for a few months until they finally told me that I was too old to march! :yikes:
pooh bear
1981 Blue Devils lead baritone line - "Johnny One Note" - high G to Double G - many people thought we were french horns playing that lick - but.... Props to Dave Carico, Greg Gilman, John Ellis, and some corn seed from Iowa. BTW - if you listen to the finals recording in Montreal - that double G was veeerrrry in tune and LOUD - nuff said. :D
pooh bear
wanted to add the french horn trills at the end of "Free" - 1979 1980 Blue Devils - Chris Nalls and Dave Tuttle - a High D if I remember correctly.
