I want to buy a King G soprano or Mellophone.Does anyone have one they want to sell?

Does anyone know if King ever made a 3 valve soprano in G?

King (unfortunately) stopped making G bugles before the 3rd valve was added.

As for a K-20 soprano or a Mellophone (K-40??), good luck. It took me 20 years before I found one on Ebay this year. I HAVE seen mellos ocasionally, but K-20 sops are rare.

And no...I will not sell mine. 1) I'm using it in Dream and 2) I played one in BD...I'd sooner give up my right arm then lose that horn! Waaaayyy too many memories associated with it!

True about King not making 3 valve bugles.

King sops can be found periodically. Last time I checked, Troopers were selling some king sops--they can also be obtained via eBay.

Kanstul sops and mellos can also be found on eBay. The best time to find them is right now--the off season.

The Troopers do have some King K-20's for sale. These have been well "loved" over the years - and have been in storage for some time now. We also have 1 King K-40 2v Flugel left that we're trying to sell. (plays great, BTW)

These are the better of the lot....

King sop 1 - #02026 - $100.00

King sop 2 - #02009 - $125.00

King sop 3 - #01972 - $100.00

King Flugel - #68 - $225.00

Sorry, all the King mellophones are already gone.

Check out >>>> http://www.troopersdrumcorps.org/corps/special2.htm for the compete listing.

Wow! I stand corrected...I think those sops will be gone REAL quick...they're sweet horns!

Were they always Troop horns or did they come from somewhere else? Mine looks to be originally from Valley Fever, then BD "B".

No, these are original to the corps. If memory serves, we switched over to King brass at the end of the 1982 season. I'm not 100% sure that these particular horns are orginal purchases, but ...

Note to interested buyers: The Troopers are in camp mode and therefore - unbelievably busy in the office. We will answer your inquiries, but please, be patient with us.
