Cadets have continuously performed like no other in the brass idiom. With the return of Jay Bocook, the brass staff from last year it looks like have a good hold on things. With the clips that I've heard so far, to be this mature of a hornline so early in the season IMO Cadets will sweep away the Jim Ott

So winning the Jim Ott 19 times in 30 or so years of existence and 11 championships is not continuously performing like no other? I'm sorry but in this poll I have to go with Blue Devils.

I think we should all clear this up, are you talking about best High Brass section as in mellos and Trumpets or are you talking about who will win high brass at finals.

High Brass section:

1. Cadets (screamers like Rick are amazing)

2. Blue Devils

3. Crossmen (just a personal favorite)

Who will Win High Brass:

1.Vanguard

2. Blue Devils

3. Phantom Regiment

Phantom Regiment will not win high brass until they change their philosophy about brass playing. Every year during finals week most of the hornline comments make some reference to playing louder. This is now way to win a high brass trophy... not in DCI anyway. That's why a lot of people think that Phantom's hornline sounded better and Indy this past year than they did at finals. The sound was cleaner, more balanced, more in tune. Their were also fewer release issues. That is my best explanation of why PR's horns fell from 1st to for 4th place during that timespan.

BTW, my vote is going to SCV, because they HAVE changed their philosphy, and their hornline has been sustantially overhauled.
