  1. I just wet myself... Symphonic Metamorphosis
  2. Andy Smart is the guy's name. Performing with/possibly still performing with Blast!
  3. Wow. I'm shocked that so many people can have blatant disrespect for any corps like some people have shown the past couple months. I marched Troopers for 2 years, so yeah I'm a little biased, but I'm getting sick of it. Everywhere I look, people are ripping on BD, the Cadets, Corps X,Y, and Z. I haven't surfed these forums and not seen something negative about one corps or another. I'm sick of it. Alex
  4. I hope I'm not the only one that got that joke. . . but either way, good one.
  5. 2 DM 100 Brass 70 Contras 29 Euphs 1 Mello (me) 13 Guard 20 Percussion 5 Snares, 5 Tenors, 3 Tymps, 5 Basses, 2 Bells
  6. I just got mine in the mail and I will not stop watching until they are done.
  7. I can't believe The Madison Scouts scored so low! I can't believe BAC scored so high! I can believe The Cadets won! I can't believe PR didn't win! (my second favourite of the night) I can't believe SCV didn't place higher! I can't believe Glassmen didn't place lower! I can't believe The Cadets had any competition for drums I can't believe Phantom Regiment didn't win horns! I can't believe The Cavaliers didn't win visual! I can believe Cadets won GE. I can't believe The Cavaliers didn't win guard! I can't believe anyone didn't win timing and penalty! How do you WIN timing and penalty? I second this question, what is and how do you win timing and penalty. I can't believe The Cadets didn't get penalized for being so awesome! I can't believe I didn't march, seriously, such a mistake. I also can't believe I'm such an insomniac.
  8. You win my respect for having great abilities to predict shows, and if you happen to be in Russia this summer, I'll buy you a beer. :mmm:
  9. HAHA, told you it was about Alice in Wonderland. . . My sources are good, and with Hopkin's daughter auditioning as a dancer, that makes my statements even more true.
  10. Well, as a member who marched Troopers, I'm just going to say I agree with the original poster whole-heartedly for both Pioneer and Troopers. It also doesn't help that we can never fill a full 135 spots, but that's a recruiting. Tradition is great, but utilizing tradition and while still being progressive and putting out great programs is really what it should be about. The Cavies, I think, are the best example of this.
  11. Yeah, I'm aware that it's a play on "Alice" from the Scouts and that's why I found it interesting that Hopkins would take such an idea from the past, it'll be interesting to see if this is truly the choice, b/c I'm sure the Cadets will put an entirely different spin on it.
  12. I haven't met her, but it's just what I heard from a member who works with a guy on the guard staff. I can't give any promises and I really don't want to be one of the rumor guys, it's just what I heard. Either way, I'm sure the Cadets will put out an amazing and unique product. Here's to 06.
  13. Word on the street is that Alice in Wonderland is going to be theme of the show, with use of the door again and maybe Hopkin's daughter being Alice.
  14. How about Dancer in the Dark by Cadets this year? Or Canon in D and the Lord's Prayer by PR in 03? There are plenty of these moments today.
  15. If you get rid of GE, you get rid of creative show ideas and pushing the limit. That's my main beef with it. We want to expand the power and greatness that a drum corps can put out. I'm also curious about the rule of conducting 50% of the time and playing the other half, are there any instances of this besides Boston's Assistant DM?
  16. I'm not going to say much, but there are reasons for this decision that do not include the Troopers playing on G or even placing 21st or lower for the past 3 or so years. I'm sure more information will arise, but if you really want to know, just start asking questions.
  17. I'm going to agree with the majority here. SCV on finals night was so amazing that I have trouble finding the words to express it. At one point, tears began to form and they were the first corps that I have ever seen that has ever done it to me. I think SCV this year was underappreciated and I really have trouble understanding the low GE scores, especially BK beating them in GE, that made no sense. *edited for grammatical mistakes*
  18. If drum corps is crack, then this summer I have been going through serious withdrawals.
  19. The scores for quarterfinals slotting were taken from July 30 to August 7 I believe and those shows Colts had higher scores than Xmen, and actually, when Colts and Xmen have been head to head, the Colts have beat them about 50% of the time. In other news, Troop's score is way too low.
  20. They did their last run through, Perfecting their show, In hopes of a response, To which they could gloat. I'm lame at poetry :'(
  21. I always rely here for scores. Usually someone is on the phone with a friend and scores are posted that way.
  22. You know the Ruby Tuesday Smokehouse burger tromps Red Robin.
