mobrien
A sidebet could be on the first DCI finalist to march a marimba (since 27th missed the cut in '74). That distinction would go to Seneca Optimists in '76, who marched a set attached to what appeared to be a 45 year old guy.... :P

mobrien
More keyboard trivia (of the 'what were they thinking?' variety). One finalist corps in '78 marched three keyboards but only two keyboard players. Nothing was grounded, so all three keyboards were in motion the entire show. Any guesses?... ScribeToo
I only know one corps that had an "air marimbist" and I think that was in 1979..

All the goofier when you consider that you were ALLOWED to march 3 or 4 mallet players in '78, so didn't need to 'economize' that way.
