Jim Anello
I don't think it would be right to sell it....these are photos that many have shared for free. Boy....copying those to a CD is really taking some time (only up to page 136). With the weather nice outside, I am itching to get out and enjoy it. One thing too....some posters have already deleted their pictures... :( First, what a great thread. I'm only half way through. Not only are the pictures great, but so are all the stories that go with them. I agree with Malibu about not selling these. A lot of these pictures are from yearbooks, programs and drum corps magazines. I would think you'd have to get the permission of the photographers, if only out of courtesy. Through the 1st 300 pages or so I've seen several pictures taken by my brother Bob, who was a staff photographer for Drum Corps News in the early '70s. Paul Milano
Good news. I just heard from a friend of the originator of this thread, "yonnenana." He has apparently been through some very rough times during the last few months, but is soon to be back on firm-footing again. Anyway, his friend will be returning the pictures I sent him earlier and I will then start posting them shortly. They are from the late 50s and early 60s and include some fairly historic pictures of Holy Name Cadets. I'll also try to remember to post them in the other thread "Old Senior Corps Pictures" that is also alive and well on the DCA forum. P.S. Just a reminder, if any Blessed Sac alum wants the mint-condition 1970 window decal I have, please contact me. It's yours for free. Thanks. Geneva
Wow, this is a great thread! Talk about free association. After seeing this pic and the talk of the 1981 Geneseo Knights West coast tour, it got me rummaging through some of my old corps photos and voile! This picture was taken by my wife-to-be at a show in Cerritos, California (we had just moved to LA that summer). She is a non-corps person, but quickly tuned into the photogenic aspects of drum corps. For years the name of this corps was forgotten to me as it lay mixed amongst images of Phantom Regiment, Blue Devils, and Santa Clara Vanguard who were also at that show. By the way, the California coast at Orange County is quite swimmable. Thank you for refreshing my memories! PS sorry about the rotated image but I gave up on photobucket after several attempts. :sshh: 1981 Geneseo Knights Drum LineA bunch of Midwest kids drumming in the Pacific Ocean! Tansea
I was stationed in Monterey.......you'd be hard-pressed to find anybody swimming there (too cold!!!)Carmel, maybe. B) I agree, I have been in the water up and down the coast of California and Monterey doesn't really have that kind of break....I was thinking further south....note the lack of wet suits. tommytimp
That is Rita, but she's on xylophone. Bob Blomberg (aka vibraphonus rex) is rocking the vibes. I had the pleasure of playing with them in 83, my rookie season. (Check out the mallet runs in the opener. Marrone.)

There's another pic of who I think is Rita on the website carrying a set of quads??? We were "almost" an item at Whitewater and Denver in 78. :sshh: Philbert
