<snip>

And of course at DCA, 1997 - Chris, remember this quote and who said it:

"And in 5th place with not nearly enough...."  (just quoting, don't get mad at me)

Hey, that's cool Patty!!! Me and Dugan were reminiscing about 1997 yesterday at Bush rehearsal. Ya know we still love that year and always will!!

...and about the corps not singing Bobo anymore...I don't care HOW new the corps is, there's some traditions that should have been held sacred, and that's one of them. It really is a shame. 40 years. This post is directed at the vets that I marched with in the 90's, so new guys, don't get bent out of shape. The older vets know exactly why I'm upset about this.

Quick observations...

--meeting the one and only Dave China.

--looking for one of the tenor player's car keys after rehearsal Saturday night...just to find out 90 minutes later that he inadvertently tossed them into a snare drummer's back pack!!

--stopping into a Brazilian restaurant in Port Chester Sunday morning with a few corps members--only to find that they were not serving any type of Brazilian cuisine, only OMELETTES!!!

--seeing some brass players that were in the line during the winter rehearsals come back after being away for a couple of months.

--watching our percussion caption head slow-dance (very well, I might add), with his girlfriend...but watching him dance like he was still in the 80's was NOT for the weak of heart! :-)

--seeing the tenor tech drum alongside the current tenor line--2 who drummed for him while members of Immaculata HS; the other is a current member of Metuchen HS.

--watching the drum major conducting the corps during its first full run-through, with the corps in full uniform.

Go get 'em, Sun!!

And good luck to our friends who are either marching or teaching in all DCA corps. It's gonna be a fun season, that's for sure!

:silly:

Flashbacks! I'm having flashbacks of Dan throwing his cooler through the window of his car in 1995....the car keys were lost..... :worthy:
