bbass74
I found it interesting the number of corps who have made the top 12 since 72' and are no longer an active junior corps. I realize some of these like the Kilties are DCA now but only just a few, the rest are no more! Anahiem Kingsmen 27th Lancers Argonne Rebels Des Plaines Vanguard Muchachos Kilties Bridgemen Blue Raeders Black Knights Commodores Oakland Crusaders Purple Lancers Royal Crusaders Seneca Optimists Guardsmen North Star Sky Ryders Suncoast Sound Velvet Knights Star of Indiana Some of these corps ended with them still making finals in their final years... makes you wonder what happened. Others just fell way out of ranking before folding. I started to wonder which of the top 12 now will face the same fate. I certainly do not wish for any corps to go inactive but it happens, even to the strongest corps! Didn't want this thread to turn into a "who's next" opinion poll, just wanted to give recognition to those corps from the past.
PeeWee
I can already see one that you missed: Freelancers - Sacramento, CA They are currently fielding a WGI percussion ensemble, but no corps as of yet.

Sorry Lancer Alumni!
Cainan
Why is it that when all these "no longer with us" lists come out, Freelancers almost ALWAYS gets left off the list? Were we really THAT insignificant on the DCI dead corps radars? Sorry, I just find it really annoying.
randomnoise
It is a vast conspiracy, CJ - didn't you know? Oops, perhaps I shouldn't say anything. Who's that at the door? No, sir - I didn't tell anyone. aaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh...............

Dutchboy Cadets dropped the "Cadets" and are now just Dutchboy, right? Does that count?
Eggbert
Blue Stars should probably be on that list with an asterisk. The original Blue Stars organization folded after the 82 season and was later reorganized by alumni as the LBS Cadets.

My first thought was--where's CJ with the "why does everyone forget the Freelancers" remark. I think it is a conspiracy, just to get you going, CJ. lol
Phansouth
I loved standing next to Freelancers at retreat. They were one of the few corps who really took it seriously.
