What?!? No Finlandia yet?

In all seriousness, God Bless The Child (BST arrangement) is always cool.

I wish I could remember the name of the piece that the Argonne Rebels opened with in the early 70's. Too bad I can't hum it in a post. Anyway, what ever it was called, I vote for that one.

And Mambo (Kingsmen) too!

The Argonne Rebels piece you're thinking of was Fanfare for the New. IT,I BELIEVE,was actually a StanKenton Piece written to prove he could write something other than jazz.

Beverly Cardinals did "Fanfare for the New" way back when and almost set the field on fire in Marion at the US Open. They also did a great version of "Nights in White Satin". I think Rick Connor arranged both. They eventually merged with I.C. Reveries and Danvers Blue Angels to become North Star. Beverly Cardinals were eclipsed by 27th and Crusaders, but in their day were one of the great Massachusetts corps.:worthy:

Blue Devils Chase the Clouds Away and Legend of the One Eyed Sailor

I love those songs! Because of BD playing a lot of Mangione tunes, I found myself purchasing many of his albums as well as attending many of his live concerts.
