I wish I could remember the name of the piece that the Argonne Rebels opened with in the early 70's. Too bad I can't hum it in a post. Anyway, what ever it was called, I vote for that one. And Mambo (Kingsmen) too! The Argonne Rebels piece you're thinking of was Fanfare for the New. IT,I BELIEVE,was actually a StanKenton Piece written to prove he could write something other than jazz. They also did a great version of "Nights in White Satin". I think Rick Connor arranged both. They eventually merged with I.C. Reveries and Danvers Blue Angels to become North Star.
