bigbluekiltie
The Devitt Scholarship is available to any brass player from the Midwest who marches in a junior corps. Last year we gave to scholarships of $650 each. To date, we have had only one applicant, and the deadline is November 15. If interested, go to http://www.royalairs.org; then, download the application and email the completed application to: celticquill@yahoo.com Thanks. liebot
so do you have to be from the midwest, or just march in a midwestern corps? Edited October 21, 2005 by TTitans909
MelloHorn13
So you say you can apply if you live in the midwest.... but the application say if you march a competitive corps in the midwest...which is it?
Orpheus
So you say you can apply if you live in the midwest.... but the application say if you march a competitive corps in the midwest...which is it? I'd guess the latter, since that's what's written on the actual application itself. I hope lots of people apply. Can't hurt to go for it, especially if you've already got a "Why I march drum corps" essay or two under your belt. - - It's great to see things like this are out there. BTW, shouldn't this be posted in the D1 forum, too? Or has it been and I just didn't see it?

DrummerGurl21
What about us drummers that need scholarships. are there any out there?
bigbluekiltie
Yes, I posted it in three different areas. And yes, the rules say you must MARCH with a competitive, Midwestern Junior Corps...and play brass. I'd guess the latter, since that's what's written on the actual application itself. I hope lots of people apply. Can't hurt to go for it, especially if you've already got a "Why I march drum corps" essay or two under your belt. - - It's great to see things like this are out there.BTW, shouldn't this be posted in the D1 forum, too? bigaggietrumpet
What if we don't know which corps we'll be in? I'm auditioning for Blue Devils, Madison Scouts, and probably Revolution, but all of them have their audition camps after the deadline. Should I still apply?
