bariforhire
Raymond A. Garbarina American Legion Post #1523 (New York City, NY) Memorial Day 1946 Bronx, NY Pictured are the recently discharged original members of the Garbarina-Mazarakos Post Skyliners at their first outing as a newly formed Senior corps. The men pictured wore their military uniforms for lack of a corps uniform. The corps was made up of members of pre WWII junior corps "Phoebe Apperson Hearst Corps", and "The Grand Street Boys". In the front row are two Hall of Famers Whom I had the honor of knowing, second from the left Vinny Radford who was my M&M instructor at St. Joseph's of Batavia 1962-64, and center Rudy Caprifolio who was the first Director of the Raymond A. Garbarina Skyliners.
bariforhire
We Stood For Freedom We stood for freedom just like you And loved the flag you cherish too Our uniforms felt great to wear You know the feel, and how you care In step we marched, the cadence way The same is true with you today Oh how we tried to do our best As you do now, from test to test How young we were and proud to be Defenders of true liberty So many thoughts bind soldiers well The facts may change, not how we jell Each soldier past, and you now here Do share what will not disappear One thought now comes, straight from my heart For soldiers home, who ve done their part I m honored to have served with you May Godly peace, help get you through And now I ll end with a request Do ponder this, while home at rest America, respect our day Each veteran, helped freedom stay ©2002 Roger J. Robicheau How appropriate we honor our military veterans on this day with these photos. From the trenches they returned home. Clinging to their battle camaraderie, they formed veterans organizations, from which sprang Drum & Bugle Corps Portage American Legion Post #496 (Kent, OH) 1932

He used to spend a lot of time at our house when I was a kid, here in Rochester. Now he's a guy that had LOTS of great stories!!
