DCP-er
Hey, I'm just looking for a list of drum corps averages meaning like "the average drum corps travels to 20 states over the summer". If there's anything you can think of, that would be awesome. Thanks. Edited January 23, 2006 by DCP-er
MsBusDriver
Hey, I'm just looking for a list of drum corps averages meaning like "the average drum corps travels to 20 states over the summer". If there's anything you can think of, that would be awesome. Thanks. When I drove SCV for 4 tours, '90-'93. We averaged 15,000 miles over the Summer. This included the West Coast and then big tour milage. Is that the kind of stuff you're looking for?

bishtom
you may want to try to contact each corps directly...on average, it is 12,000-20,000+ miles for each corps (i think)

jwillis35
A study revealed that pit members march an average of 0 miles per summer. :P Yes, but they walk 10 miles before the show. The average number of tunes played in a show is 4 The average number of minutes per song is 2.875 (172.5 seconds) The average tempo per song is 145 (208 being the typical high, and 82 being the typical slow) the difference of the two, divided by 2, added to the low The average number of beats per song = 417.875 ((BPM*Seconds)/60)+1 The average number of drill sets per song = 34.82 (Beats/12) I used 12 as the average number of counts in a set since many sets are 8 to 16 counts long The Average number of steps taken during a show = 1,671.5 At an average of 22.5 inches per step, the average marching member moves 3,134 feet, or 1,044.68 yards or just about 10.5 football fields in one show. tommytimp
When I marched with then corps, the Geneseo/Quad City Knights got screwed by judges an average of 3.6 times every season. And no, I didn't march in 1982. Whitewater 82 raises the average quite a bit more.
