Michael Boo
Isn't it bad enough that WGI is going to be in Dayton for what will seem like an eternity? Why does DCI want to do this to its fans? I don't want to travel to crappy mid-western cities. What makes Indianapolis (home to the NCAA, dozens of amatuer sports festivals and events every year, a rising convention city and a growing Mecca for the arts) "crappy"? Fievel
Another "plus" to this would be the following: Designers could actually plan their show FOR this stadium - especially with the dawn of amplification on us. WGI percussion designers try to keep the Nutter Center in mind when they're designing their show, it would be a similar thought process here. Levels, speaker positioning, etc. - they can pretty much know what it's going to be like come Finals week. The variables would be the same year to year. Einstein On The Beach
This doesn't mean finals will be in the RCA Dome for 10 years, does it?
bawker
This doesn't mean finals will be in the RCA Dome for 10 years, does it? Nah. They're building a new one.... http://www.stadiumsofnfl.com/future/ColtsStadium.htm If I remember right, DCI Finals would be one the first events (maybe even the first) to take place when its all done in 2008. Jeff Ream
There most be a test run before DCI makes any multi year commitmenti would hate to see something wrong with the stadium that affetcs the corps performing, the fans live, and the recording and have to be stuck there for 10 years that makes sense...why go and find out it sucks and be locked in for 10 years
Wildabeast
Keep Championships rotational. Indianapolis is welcomed to the mix.
