dcf06
We still have everything; The EQ and the kitchen trailers were not for sale. The corps only sold the marching percussion and the steel drums. They decided to keep the horns and the pit equipment because they were only two years old, as where the marching percussion was a bit older. Bus 170 is up and running properly, the throttle was stuck so when the gas pedal was pushed it didn’t want to stop. We started it the other day; it was a great feeling to hear that bus running again. I really love the smell of diesel fuel burning on a warm day! Bus 160 however met its fate last march in Chicago. But it’s still in really good condition to use it as parts. The trailers are expected to be rolled soon. Everything is looking really good in Menasha!
CallipygianKing
How about doing some DCA shows? That'd put their field performances few and far between. Weekends only, and lots of travel to the Northeast. The closest they'd get to home would be Milwaukee in July and two Minnesota shows in August... AFTER DCI Finals are over. The all-age and junior shows are just completely different animals, and while DCA would probably welcome another corps with open arms, I doubt that's the direction they'd want to go. If Americanos, for whatever reason, do not pass DCI's evaluation, can they still partake in DCI sanctioned shows or are there other opportunities even with DCM now defunct? While it sucks that DCI edged out DCM (monopoly=bad), I would guess that they'd be able to play at any show that they can convince the sponsor to let them in to, regardless of DCI's stamp of approval. Plenty of shows have other non-DCI performers take the field.
