brassomaniac
The Albany tk2 project will hold it's first "official" planning board meeting on Monday 5/15, at 6:00, in Defreestville, NY; just East of downtown Albany. Several veterans of the first "too kool" project (which grew into the pro groups, Brass-O-Mania! and the B-O-M Big Band) have already signed on, and we're excited about having them on board to help form our mini-corps. We have knocked around a lot of ideas, informally, but now it's time to start bringing these plans together. Experienced Drum Corps veterans who are interested in steering or helping with this exciting project should contact: Tom MacDonald tommacd@nycap.rr.com Edited May 8, 2006 by brassomaniac

brassomaniac
O.K. I'll bite......What is tk2? I don't have a clue.............. tk stands for "too kool". The first too kool (tk) project, begun 12 years ago, resulted in Brass-O-Mania!, an all-acoustic Big Band, and then to a spin-off, The B-O-M Big band. Both are pro groups, and have been a huge success and a great experience for all involved. Some of the same characters will be helping to organize the new, as yet un-named mini-corps; working name - "tk2". When we started on the first "tk" project, we had an untried format, little help and virtually no interest to start with. The tk2 project will benefit from an additional 12 years of professional experience and music education, and a wealth of contacts and support on the local music scene. In addition to a planning board, the project group will include a small team of professional musicians and arrangers who are the principals in a music production group, Brass-O-Mania!, the B-O-M Big Band, and who are also involved in many other professional music projects. Thanks for your interest! Please pass the word on to experienced corps personal who might have an interest in helping us to build this exciting, new group. brassomaniac
bump - before Monday's meeting If we get many more responses, we'll have to move to a larger site - not complaining, of course! We'll still be right in the area, though.
