So how were they? Let's give Div 3 some love y'all.

Or let's just here why the were in exhibition

They were smaller than I hoped, but did well for a Div III corps in their first show. A lady next to me (I didn't know before the show) actually felt Capital Sound's Mello's did better than Pioneer's. I'm not sure I agree with that, but it shows that CS did fine for their first show.

One thought on their exhibition performance.....does DCI still require 30 members for Division III corps? I only counted 28 or 29 performers.

But they did a pretty good job. Only a couple of obvious holes in the drill.....

Come on kids...if you're not marching somewhere...there's a spot for you.

I counted 13 brass, 5 Guard, 5 percussion and 4 pit - might have missed one or two, but I do believe they were short of 30. My big question is, did they finish their show? I know "Augustus Gloop", which was supposed to be their closer, and I didn't hear that last night.

I hope they can pull it out - they were a strong corps last year with a big battery - those numbers are a shock to me.

Good luck Cap Sound!

Best of luck to Capital Sound. An awesome corps for many years. Anyone know the reasons for such a small corps this year. Weren't they DII last year?

No, they were Div. III, but they were very good. It is such a shame to hear they are struggling for members. There has to be a way to convince more people that Div. III (and II) are worth joining. My son got a ton out of his year in Div. III last year. I know some of the Div. I corps try to talk the people they cut into going to a Div. II or III, but I know alot of others don't. These local corps used to be the backbone of the activity. I'm not sure how healthy it will be for the long-term health of the activity if we lose this base.
