One thing that affects this a lot are 'spreads'. For example if the current #1 ranked corps competes with #8, #6 & #10 at one show and the current #2 corps competes with #3, #4, and #5 at a different show, how do the caption judges at each venue decide how much better (or worse) one is from the other? Tough job that I wouldn't want. Still it is a comparison of the relative ranking I guess. Agree with another poster....top four go head to head in Lewisburg this weekend.
