I'm looking forward to it! I've seen how much all these Div 2/3 corps have improved in recent years, and I find it a shame that more people don't go out to their shows and support them.

Is Dutch Boy doing anything to increase membership? I assume it's hard to retain members in Canada, as the activity is no longer as popular as it once was in the country, but I'm hoping to see Dutch field a larger corps in the future. They're great as it is, but I can only imagine what they could do with more talented members.

Dutch Boy fielded a large corps last year (20+ brass, 22 color guard, 10 pit and 10 batter) not sure what happened during the offseason, but this year they are half the size for the most part with the battery getting a bit bigger.

In regards to size...Big things can come in small packages....

Division 3 prelims 1998 - St. John's - 3rd place...91.70 - 30 members total with only 11 brass. Corps on either side fielded 50+.

Mandarins, Blue Stars and Americanos have also been very successful in fielding smaller corps.

Teal Sound would have to fall by more than a point....sorry, don't see it happening.

It looks like a year of 9 and 3.

Has there been a year since the new format when Div. III put more than 3 corps in finals?

Tom Brace

Ya. In 2003, Lehigh Valley Knights squeked in there just beating out Memphis Sound. Only year there's been 4 div III with new format. Blue Stars, Yamato, Marion Glory Cadets, and LVK. I've been waiting to see it happen again.
