DCI on ESPN2

Recommended Posts

DCI Championship Households viewing increase 23% from 2005.

The ratings are in and the championships got a 0.6 coverage household

rating* compared to last year's 0.5. Actual estimated households viewing

was 538,000 compared to 436,000 last year. The estimated number of Persons

aged 2+ viewing this year was 824,000 compared to 745,000 last year.

The demographic profile of who watched changed a lot since last year. Last

year, the median age of the viewer was 30. This year, it was 42.

The ratings by demographic actually decreased this year for adults 18-34,

but increased for Adults over 35.

All of these ratings are small relative to what the big networks get, but

very nice for a small network like ESPN2.

* Coverage ratings represent the percentage of households that receive the

channel, rather than the % of households in the U.S.

Note: This year's ratings are for "Live+Same Day". To account for DVR's

like Tivo, Nielsen changed their ratings system this year. These ratings

include anyone who either watched the show Live or watched it on a delayed

basis with their DVR within the same broadcast day.

imagine if they had kept the time at 9 pm like last year so kids at band rehearsals on the east coast could have seen the first hour

I would have liked to see entire shows instead highlights. I know that would have taken a while so maybe entirre shows for top six and reveiw for the others.

I know man. Like the gun form from the Blue Devils. I loved that to the point of telling my mom to watch for it but it wasn't showed.
