Fran Haring
Kudos to Doc Sebastianielli, who helped facilitate that first meeting. The good doctor is still going strong at 90-plus years of age!!!!! Fran

MiamiSun76
Hawthorne would later drop out resulting in "dueling contests" during the '64 and '65 seasons. Only after losing the Legion nationals to the Rochester Crusaders did the Cabs rejoin DCA for 1966. That resulted in one of the most exciting Legion championships ever. TomPeashey
smiling politely, Washington DC 1966 "one of the most exciting Legion Championships ever" lol Now THAT IS an understatement... for mostly the wrong reasons...

"1966 Legion Natinals": If their ever was an "Upset" at a National Chmpionship, the 1966 senior Legion Finals more than qualifies. Tom, To paraphrase Joe Kennedy, Sr. the legion gave you a championship, not a freakin' dynasty. :P (but I'll always love the huge key change in "Devil at 4:00")

Achilles
Interesting, on two counts: 1) DCA preceded DCI in forming an alliance of the corps - this came as news to me. 2) DCA effectively formed a 'union' - for the purposes of collective bargaining with the show sponsors. "Pay us this share of the prize money, or these corps aren't coming to your show."
Jimbalaya
Thanks again Nanci for keeping these revelations coming. Dan Goetell was our Business Manager for many years and represented Archie on that day. He managed to remain active with the organization, singing with our Musketeer Chorus until his passing in 1992.
