shawn craig
There are always threads about auditions this time of year. This is a unique or different take on it. Are there corps or times when staff may give a spot to someone in part based on talent but also becuase of who they are? Some possilbe people would be: 1. Sibling of a current member 2. Child/relative of alums, especially alums who volunteer and/or give a lot of money 3. Children/relatives of staff 4. Children/relatives of DCI officials and staff 5. Children/relatives of Judges 6. Relatives of big donners 7. Other

megan_marie15
I know for sure on Regiment's audition form they ask if you have any connections to the organization, and I'm sure there are many others too.
Mean Guru
The kid of a big donor. A virtual lock on tour payments, and running a corps is expensive. -Means Edited January 4, 2007 by Mean Guru
shawn craig
Yes... those things come into play to various degrees.edit: Actually, 4 and 5 not so much. I didn't think 4 and 5 as much. I do remember someone saying Don Peceons (sp?) son marched Cavies (I think), but that was before their championship years I believe. His daughter marched Troopers (I think). Kimberly
I do remember someone saying Don Peceons (sp?) ... His daughter marched Troopers (I think). Yes, she marched mid 80-ish. She was in the guard (rifle?).
