  1. I have 2 to 4 tickets available for the San Antonio show. To be sold at cost - $46 each.
  2. A bunch of Trooper alumns are converging on Casper as we speak. Some are on DCP. I have to stay home and work because of deadlines. :-(
  3. A couple of years a younger guy showed up at my Toastmasters club. I ended up sitting across the table from him at the restaurant that we go to after our meeting. I had not been able to talk to him before I heard him say "do you know anything about drum corps?" He marched Garfield in the 2000s. He's moved to another town but I still tease him about Hopkins on FB, when appropriate.
  4. Way back when, I never imagined that it was a drum corps thing - I just figured that it was our thing.
  5. He's NOT dead! He's on Craig Fergerson right now!
  6. Great mommy planning and mommy-ing, Terri. She was so well behaved and a joy to sit next to.
  7. 10 Carolina Crown - 8 Madison Scouts 12 Phantom Regiment - 9 Santa Clara Vanguard 16 Troopers +
  8. Aurgh! You beat me to it by 6 minutes! LOL
  9. No, not your seat partner.... YOU! I thought we were talking about moving to different corps - my bad! Sorry I won't be seeing you tomorrow or Saturday. :-( Miss you, my friend!! KimBERLY
  10. Sometimes I think that I should have gone to a different corps because someone would put his dirty, stinky show socks in my face and ask me if they were either clean or if they smelled. (Time has dampened the memory of the exact words, but not the action or intent.) I'm not going to name any names, but you KNOW who you are.
  11. I used to go there daily to read the interviews and the columns written by members and former members. Now that they don't have those columns, I don't have any reason to go there. It also doesn't help any that I don't like the new format.
  12. Oh, no, I don't dare any more. A couple of years ago the young guy in front of me told me to shut up right before Phantom came on - totally ruined my viewing of a much loved corps. In Houston, clap politely but don't cheer.
  13. In full uniform with friends who are dressed just like me, sitting in the back stands, watching a favorite spot in a favorite show for the n-teenth time.
  14. Granny, I'd pay $10 for the poster. I could afford to spend more, but I'd have to give it a 2nd thought if it was more than $10.
  15. Yes, he does awesome work. He's not on staff, though, he's an alumn.
  16. First time - December 30th or 31st, 1984 - standstill somewhere in Pasadena area for the Wyoming delegation before the Rose Bowl Parade, followed by the parade on the 1st.* Last time - January, 2001 - President G. W. Bush's first Inaugural Parade *One awesome thing about marching the Rose Bowl Parade was all of the cheers that we got from drum corps fans - that, and hearing people shout out other corps' names. I didn't expect it.
  17. Good news!!! The Troopers ARE back on the field - they were there this past summer, 2007. We're all looking forward to an even better 2008!
  18. We had a guy who ended the summers with NO tan - we'd tease him because he was so very pale. He applied sun screen and was always covered. Be careful of medicines - some of them tell you to stay out of the sun while taking them - BELIEVE THE LABEL.
  19. 7s that require the person to step to the side to make a catch isn't as impressive to me as a 3 that is thrown and caught with the feet not moving.
  20. If it's from the tape I think it's from, he's actually crying earlier in the show, during Ecstacy of Gold.
  21. I was in the stands for that show! You WERE tic-less!
