By the way the kick-off is actually the warm up (uninvited) leading into Kashmir. (It doesn't start as abruptly as the clip. It slowly builds up to that point) I've heard the first half of Tango and like it alot. It has alot of power and rythmic energy. The second half is supposed to be Tango De Roxanne from Moulin Rouge and I can't wait to hear it! Hopefully there will be a recording of Open House available somewhere. Medeabrass Posted April 25, 2007 Share Posted April 25, 2007 Wow...I can't wait to hear this live. It sounds like they're making a smooth transition from the old staff to the new. I really like how they utilized the voices and the brass at the same time. It gave it some really cool color. I don't think the voice will be amped simply because it sounds like the entire corps or brass line is singing at the beginning. They would have to have the wireless mics for each member...I guess that could be done but I doubt it. Plus, you can hear it just fine the way it is. I really like this music and hope it is challenging enough to keep their scores up...I know, I know, they don't care about scores but I hope they score well anyways just to show everybody that you can be melodic and competitive at the same time. From the middle of Kashmir to the end, there are notes-a-plenty. Same with the closer (at least the part of it I heard)...not to mention a pretty nice trumpet solo! I really wish they weren't playing Kashmir though.... I mean..seriously drum corps, stop playing rock music, it doesn't work. However, Kashmir might be tolerable if they take some influence from the Puff Daddy version for the movie Godzilla....
