epwtrguard05
I asked my mom. She said I can if I wanted to, but that I'll look like an idiot doing it. Oh well. At least I have her approval! First off, are we talking Color Guard, Winter Guard or both? I can see her apprehension if you're thinking about doing Color Guard and you're the only guy. If your marching band doesn't compete, she won't have the opportunity to see other guards that do have guys marching. It's really hard to get a true sense of what it's all about if the marching band isn't exposed on that level. As for Winter Guard, it'll be right in her face! She'll be able to see and experience more, first hand because it's on a more intimate level. Up close and personal! There are amazing Winter Guard programs out there, with amazing male performers! Unless the Winter Guard is highly exposed in you HS, many people won't know what it really is. No matter what you decide to do, be prepared for all the "crap" and "trash talk"! It comes with the territory!! Good Luck! Edited May 18, 2007 by epwtrguard05
