Food Truck Playlist

Recommended Posts

I'm just getting a playlist on my iPod ready for the next time I'm on the Food Truck to make those hot afternoons a little more pleasant. Those that are upbeat and fun to sing along with as you peel a 5 gallon bucket of potatos and whip up 60 llbs of meatloaf.

What would you add?

So far I have:

Hot Fun in the Summer Time - Sly and the Family Stone

Let the Goodtimes Roll - The Cars

Bang the Drum All Day - Todd Rundgren

Vacation - Gogos

Margaritaville - Jimmy Buffet

Somebody to Love - Queen

One Week - Barenaked Ladies

Summer in the City - Lovin' Spoonful

Joy to the World - Three Dog Night

School's Out - Alice Cooper

Under the Boardwalk - The Drifters

Summer of 69 - Brian Adams

Soak Up the Sun - Sheryl Crow

Sunny Afternoon - The Kinks

Surfin' USA - The Beachboys

OK, so you can see I'm old.

That's why I'm on the truck and not on the field. :)

"Summer in the City"

If memory serves me correctly, isn't that the song that they use in the Gatorade commercial?

Oh cool! I saw Edgar Winter do Rock and Roll Hootchie Koo at Les Paul's 90th Birthday party at Carnegie Hall a couple of years ago and we had a blast. LOL..I can now also thank you for the fact Tainted Love is stuck in my head. :P

It is painfully obvious Tom that you were (and still aspire to some degree to be) a wedding DJ.

"Don't Stop Believin"--Journey

"Give a little bit"--Supertramp

Anything by the Doobie Brothers

"September"--Earth, Wind, and Fire

"The Chain"--Fleetwood Mac

And to follow in the same vain as Tom's wedding ideology=

"Return of the Mac"--Mark Morrison

The 80s were so long ago...what a fog. I did a lot of side jobs including wedding dj...whatever necessary to pay the rent.

Nothing wrong with supporting your family...

My own musical tastes wouldn't necessarliy fit everybody's drum corps kitchen...I mean Rachmaninoff, Shostkovich, Stavinsky, Ralph Van Williams, Sibelius.

So here's another snippet...

Brick House - Commodores

Anything off of the All N All album - Earth, Wind and Fire

Anything Steely Dan - for breakfast music

1999 - Prince lot's of good Prince

Party - Beasty Boys - for the Bass Drummers LOL

At Last - Etta James - late night....wrapping up snack
