Connecticut Tribute Site Updates for June 23rd

Recommended Posts

The Great Connecticut Drum Corps Photo Gallery

I have gotten over 700 photos posted back on the tribute site. Most of the Connecticut Corps images are categorized by the name of the corps. Hurricanes photos are listed by the year. I have also included a misc. category, and a section for non-connecticut corps, images i have taken over the years. there are over 150 images from the now disbanded Heatwave of Orlando. Heatwave had a great association with the Hurricanes over the years and it is sad to see them gone.

I still need some images for 2006 and of course the new 2007 uni's.

Please send along any photos you may find interesting for the site.

thanks again to everyone for their support.

RECENT PASSINGS:

We are sad to report the passing recently of the following corps members.

Bob Cameron aka Flintstone died in his sleep the weekend of June 17th.

Bob and his wife Donna came down to Wildwood to see the Corps' first performance of the season and stayed overnight at Wildwood where Bob died in his sleep.

Dennis Banks

This is from the Park City Pride guestbook:

Dear Drum Corps Friends,

It is with great sadness that we must report the passing of Dennis Banks, who had waged a great battle with cancer. This, again, marks the passing of a true legend. At the time of this posting, no details of arrangements are known.

We all know he is in great company in Heaven.

Bless you Dennis.

Dennis was inducted into the Hurricane Hall of Fame last year and last visited us at a rehearsal about a month ago.

He will be sorely missed.

And

Robert F. Walker, age 60, formerly of Stratford died peacefully June 1, 2007 in Boynton Beach, Fl., beloved brother of Ruthann Slossar of Bridgeport. Arrangements to be announced by the William R. McDonald Funeral Home. Stratford.
