BOSMarcher Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Can't DCA sponsor one more show in the South? There are only two shows in the Southeast! At least they will be well attended. Quote
TomMoore Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 When I go to the site and click on schedule, and also when I get to the schedule through the news feed, I still see only the tentative schedule. Anyone else have this problem? Quote

Harvey Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 Can't DCA sponsor one more show in the South? There are only two shows in the Southeast! At least they will be well attended. Actually. most of the shows on the DCA schedule are sponsored by the corps themselves. So, if the corps and fans in the south want more shows in the south, then the corps need to each sponsor a show. Music City Legend and CorpsVets are doing their part, how about the rest? Quote

TomPeashey Posted May 3, 2009 Author Posted May 3, 2009 Your observation is correct. Without the assurance of a profit from the turnstyle, running a show is risky business. Texas may get added or run a local show... Sun Devils are not ready from a business sense to run a show, but I'm sure will consider it in the future... We thank Music City Legend and CorpsVets for their efforts in running these shows. Quote
DCASouth Posted May 3, 2009 Posted May 3, 2009 (edited) There were to be two more Southern shows this year, one was cancelled due to the economics with the school boards not allowing outside groups to use the facilities, and it also became very cost prohiitive, the other was a schedule conflict with the school and we could not find a date suitable for most of the corps' to attend and support the show due to it becoming later in the season when most of our Regon corps' do local performances at DCI shows .... And hopefully the Texas show will become a sanctioned show.. but GCS is committed to running some type of Region show. We hope those two shows return next year, and we are looking to add another show in the Kentucky area for 2010. and Tom is correct in what he wrote also, referring to money and such Edited May 3, 2009 by DCASouth Quote
